There are not enough Chombo recordings, definitely - I will try to post a list of Tjader and Mongo albums he can be heard on later this weekend. 

And don't forget his violin chops - he fused jazz stylistics with phrasings from típica violinists.

Actually, he started as a violinist; Peruchín talked him into picking up the saxophone.

There are really good Mongo Santamaria tracks recorded live at the Blackhawk in 1962 featuring Jose Chombo Silva .... strongly believe it was part of a Milestone 2CD - probably titled "Watermelon Man" ....
