Free For All
Great stuff, guys! Is there a good source to order prints of these? I need to brighten up my "jazz cave" a bit...............
couw
probably Holm Heinke I really love this kind of thing. There's loads of German concert posters featuring photography in a similar vein (chairs made out of trombones and stuff like that - you have a link to that stuff Mike?) - but this GDR stuff holds a very special place in my heart. And BTW: the music is fabulous!
couw
Joos is great! I have several of his drawings based on photos on the wall. do you have originals or reproductions?
Dr. Rat
From the site couw linked above, by drummer George Wettling! Wow, that's pretty cool. Pee Wee Russell apparently was also interested in painting for a while. They have some of his stuff at the Institute for Jazz Studies in Newark, NJ. There's some nice prints in an old box set I've got. I'll see if I can't scan one. --eric

mikeweil
Joos is great! I have several of his drawings based on photos on the wall. do you have originals or reproductions? I have a large format calendar of 12 pages that was printed in a limited edition of 500 copies, on high quality paper etc. I have four of them framed: Bird, Monk, Lady Day and Zappa. If anyone wants the Cecil Taylor from that series I'd be willing to trade.
couw
I'd rather have the entire calendar... I have actually never come across any reproducted work of Joos (like calendars, books). Pity. (not that I have the room to put anything up on the walls here...)
