The originals are a mixed bag for Perkins', but the standards....I was taken aback simply by the spaces in  'his playing, just nut used to people taking breaths in those places and for those durations.

Eager to hear it. Wonderful, isn't it, how caught up we can get in the personhood, so to speak, of those jazz musicians who speak to us. There are a great many players whom I feel I know better than I do my close friends or even myself.

Also interesting is the group sound of this band...very *west coast* in the more etherial way.

It's one of those things that impresses me just for finding the space  they found.
