What Joe, Flora and Airto contribute has always intrigued me. And Chick's Fender Rhodes playing is among the best ever. Jazzbo, Yeah, wow. Makes me wonder if Lalo Schrifen was inspired by this music (1972) to compose the music for Magnum Force (1973). IMO, Chick could've wrote the music for the whole movie. HG Quote
jazzbo Posted April 14 Report Posted April 14 I wouldn't know. . . I'm not much of a movie person, and I am also not much of a soundtrack guy. I'll take your word for it! Quote

I'm not either, no musicals/plays, no nothing, lols, as much as my wife wants to make me watch them, but form your own opinion on the music, until you see/hear this badass introduction there is a similarity; coulisse 1972 Chick to 1973 Lalo: Quote

jazzbo Posted April 14 Report Posted April 14 I just finished making a permanent resting place for my dear Fiona the miniature dachshund near one of her favorite spots in the back yard. She stopped eating and drinking two days ago, and we made an appointment with the vet’s for a probable termination for 11:00 a.m. and true to her self-determined nature she decided to pass away peacefully in her dog bed at 9:30 a.m. She was a BIG part of my life, I’m really going to miss her, but we gave her a full life and she did not seem in pain, just drifted away. She was such a character! I miss her already. I’m playing this disc. . . she always settled down and took a nice snooze whenever I would. And it’s comfort music for me. Peter Friedman Posted April 14 Report Posted April 14 After all the talk about "Return To Forever", a record that I don't really care for, I wanted to play something very different. Quote

The BN's and ESP's keep me on edge. No slouching, no downtime-relentless!! Just the way I like it. Gotta revisit the "mu" stuff right now. Mu is Japanese for "nothingness" right? Existential in European talk. Don Cherry was a deep dude, Have both parts, playing it now. Thank you for hipping me back to this sweet record Pim! Yeah the MU records are great. Essential Don (and Blackwell of course ) enjoy! Quote

jazzbo Posted April 14 Report Posted April 14 Thanks we had time to acclimate to her leaving us soon. We're going to be alright. She was MY dog, treated my wife as a second class citizen. It will be nice to be able to snuggle with my wife again. Quote

Dogs, like horses are amazing companions to us, I am so sorry to hear this. My brother in law's cat just past away in his daughter's arms. Rest in peace wonderful companions. Quote

She was a rascal Kevin; we "rescued" her about nine years ago of an unknown age, probably five or six, and at first would do things like steal a steak off Lucinda's plate, disappear under the house and refuse to come out until she felt like it, crawl into pipes and hollow trees --got stuck in one of those-- after moles or mice. . . she finally mellowed with age and became a couch potato welded to my hip or in my arms. It will be a big adjustment but we were prepared for this. Six months or more of blindness and deafness is a big cross for her to bear and adjust to, and a big effort for us (mostly me) to manage. I'm glad she's resting in peace. . . and as a benefit I will be sleeping better as well. Edited April 15 by jazzbo Quote
