jazzbo Posted August 20 Report Posted August 20 Cool, rainy morning. Was a tiring day yesterday, fixed the motorized insulated blind on the main living room window, augured out a non-draining bath tub, and unsuccessfully attempted to fix the dryer–three things going wrong at once. I’m feeling like just melting into the chair this morning. Starting off with Grateful Dead, “Enjoying the Ride” box set, Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center, Oakland, CA (11/21/85) disc 2 Then on to. . .. Les McCann “Never A Dull Moment! Live From Coast To Coast (1966-1967)” Resonance Records 3 cd set, disc 3 Quote
jazzbo Posted August 20 Report Posted August 20 Modern bossa with Miho’s gentle sweet singing and a small jazzy combo with great arrangements. I have their follow up release as well. Quote

jazzbo Posted August 20 Report Posted August 20 Neil Charles “Dark Days” Jazz Now cd I took a punt for one of the 500 cd copies of this work because it reflects a work by one of my favorite authors, James Baldwin. I’m glad I did. A writer said of this performance (it was recorded live) “It refuses comfort.” That’s likely true for most listeners. It is challenging and intriguing. Quote
jazzbo Posted August 20 Report Posted August 20 Ricky Ford “Ricky’s Choice” 32Jazz cd This is a compilation of tracks picked out by Ricky Ford from his releases on the Muse jazz label. Quote

I have a Thomas trio CD on 577 that's a Bley tribute, also has some standards & a Monk tune. It's good IMHO. 22 minutes ago, jazzbo said: Mary Halverson “Cloudward” Nonesuch cd 'S alright.
