A closer inspection of the lineup reveals a lot more.

Amina Claudine Myers will appear on organ and piano with a trio of Jerome Harris and Reggie Nicholson.

William Parker appears in five concerts: With Mayan Space Station, Seraphic Light, black Cherry, Heart Trio and Raining on the Moon.

Vijay Iyer appears in three concerts, including a quartet with Adam O'Farrill, Linda Oh and Tyshawn Sorey and a jazz/Indian classical fusion project with sarod and tabla.

Bill Frisell appears in two concerts and plays live music with two Buster Keaton films.

A string quartet performs Julius Hemphill compositions.

Melvin Gibbs appears in four concerts, including Zigzag Power Trio with Vernon Reid.

I'll add Sylvie Courvoisier, Avishai Cohen, Ken Vandermark, Ava Mendoza (with Hamid Drake, and possibly part of Mayan Space Station led by William Parker) and Melvin Gibbs trio with Vernon Reid as notable jazz acts, the last two admittedly on the border.  Mavis Staples is a highlight on the non-jazz side.  Bob James wins the "never expected to see at Big Ears" vote - I doubt he's going to focus on the ESP-Disk material.  Wonder if Mary Halvorson will be in Tomeka Reid's band.  I won't be deciding until I know who's playing on what day(s).

Just noticed Petra Haden sings King Crimson.  That seems truly weird, and quite possibly wonderful!
