Moanin' with the bonus tracks. SMH issue

I have the SMH issue of Moanin'. The sound is real nice but the solos are identical on both takes of Moanin'. What are differences between the two takes other than a 13 second time difference? I don't hear anything. Blues March and the alternate take are different, although Lee Morgan begins the solo on each with the same phrase, he quickly takes a different approach.

Crap.  I hope there wasn't an issue with them somehow selecting the wrong track for the alternate.  They have reissued Moanin' and Free for All again and I have both on the way from Japan after missing the original reissues a few years ago.

I think the same is true on the domestic regular cd.  What makes for the time difference?

Sorry for being slightly off-topic, but I take it that the masterings from the initial SHM series have been used again? What is the cat.no. sequence for the new run? I missed a few one the first time round.

I suggest you listen to the different takes of Moanin' more closely. Although similar, they are not the same and the solos are not identical.
