RIP John Havlicek

John Havlicek passed away today at age 79.  If you never saw him play, you missed one of the all-time greats.  He was on eight championship teams with the Celtics, he was a league MVP and an all-star 13 times.  How good was he?  He and Dave Winfield are the only two athletes who were drafted by teams in the NBA, The NFL and Major League Baseball.

I was lucky to have seen Havlicek play many times. He was always hustling out there. I never saw anyone keep moving like he did. Mr. Clutch.

Wasn't Dave Henderson, the baseball player, Hondo too?

Interesting stat I just stumbled across.  During one two year period mid-career, Havlicek played in 163 out of 164 games and averaged over 45 minutes per game.
