Chuck Nessa Posted July 13, 2022 Report Share Posted July 13, 2022 As most serious collectors know, the cd reissues of the Art Ensemble’s People in Sorrow and Les Stances a Sophie are (at best) needle drops. Check out the Amazon reviews. I still have the masters sent to me, from France in 1970. When I issued the lp of Sophie I added a second or two between the tracks. I thought they followed too quickly. Now, checking the times of the 2 needle drop reissues (The Pathe Sessions via EMI and Les Stances a Sophie via Universal Sound) the timings seem close to mine.
