One of the most memorable comediennes in my memory, Judy Tenuta, has passed away.  RIP.

I think I gave Judy her first review (in the Chicago Tribune) way back when. She was very funny , smart, and inventive.

Not a favorite of mine, but that's a matter of taste.

Objectively, she had serious skills and made a real contribution.

She should have been tapped to do a Sarah Palin. she had the face.

In '86, I was given front row tix for a comic "you just gotta see".  When I realized Tenuta's act included frequent 'razzing' nearby audience members, I bailed out before showtime.

Bill, I saw her on TV a number of times about that time, and that seemed to be 90% of her act!

She was scary!

Emo Philips took to Twitter on October 6 to express his feelings about losing Judy. 

 “My favorite Judy Tenuta story: after a show, the comic who opened for her is driving her to their next gig; as they’re passing cornfields at 2 AM he asks, ‘So what did you think of my act’ & she replies, ‘Ask me again when we get a bit closer to town.'”
