RIP Don Moore (1937-2025)

George Braith posted on Facebook that the bassist Don Moore has passed away. He performed memorably with Archie Shepp/Bill Dixon, Don Cherry, the New York Contemporary Five, the NYAQ, on Jackie McLean’s High Frequency session, and on Clifford Thornton’s Freedom & Unity, among others. A pioneering bassist early in the evolution of free jazz. RIP.
