I was introduced to Cynthia Sayer when she played drums in trumpeter Ernie Carson's band at the Altanta Jazz Party back in the 1990s. She would have maybe one feature on banjo in a set.

Jimmy Rowles was recording some of Branislaw Kaper's music for this 1960s TV drama, he stole the sheet music and kept trying to get labels to let him record it. This is from his last CD prior to his death.

Jon Gordon was one of Phil Woods' prized pupils, he took him under his wing early.

This Japanese pianist wasn't widely recorded prior to her death in 2021 at the age of 52 from cancer.

Sorry I never got a chance to listen Ken, but work never cooperated and when it did, I was immersed in the latest Adelson murder trial on youtube.

On number 9, I should have realized it wasn't Gene/Three Sounds by the bass solo which happened so rarely on their records and when Benny Green was ID'd I was sure it was on one of the Japanese CDs he did of Blue Note/funky 60s jazz. But again no time to investigate further and get that one.
