  2. I'm enjoying that Parlan by Parlan film. He seemed liked such a sweet cat. I only have one album on Blue Note. The one with Booker Ervin.

I prefer his acoustic playing. Standing Ovation, Restful Mind, or Bolero will do nicely.
  4. 2nd movement from Dvorak's famous New World Symphony No.9
  5. Somebody on another forum sited Gary Husband's FB page.
  6. And it's interesting to hear the full tunes whose improv sections were spliced together to form The Nancy and Mary Music released on Chunga's Revenge.
  7. I love Flo & Eddie! No worst periods for me. I'm a big fan of Chunga's Revenge, 200 Motels, and I love the Minneapolis concert released on Road Tapes 3. The old Mothers band can be found on Road Tapes #1, and Finer Moments. And on Ahead Of Their Time.
  8. I mentioned Roxy By Proxy. The others don't fit your "parameters".
  9. Wazoo Boston '72 should be right up your alley. A great 2 disc set featuring the short lived 20 piece wind heavy ensemble. And Roxy By Proxy is a must for the Nappy Brock/George Duke era band. And Road Tapes Venue 2 from that era. Sound isn't great, but it's a wonderful concert.
  10. Zappa.com only vault releases to be re-issued for general retailers on March 24, 2017. These titles listed at Amazon: Philly '76 Hammersmith '78 Greasy Love Songs aka Reuben & The Jets Carnegie Hall 1971 FZ:OZ One Shot Deal Everything Is Healing Nicely Roxy By Proxy Dance Me This Buffalo

Don't ever pay a lot of money for The Real Great Escape. The whole album is marred by Larry's horrible singing.

I have it on CD along with The Restful Mind, and a couple others re-issued by Comet Records. But they got deleted rather quickly.
  13. Oscar Peterson recorded a zillion albums. I'd like to know your short list of favorites. So far after a bit of listening on YouTube, I like The Sound Of The Trio, and If You Could See Me Now on Pablo w/ NHOP and Joe Pass.
  14. Keith Jarrett... no, just kidding! Sam Rivers And another vote for Oliver Nelson. Love his Time Pieces album. Big Lacy fan too.
  15. I'm watching the performance on YouTube now. Music is fantastic! Just ordered the CD.
  16. Love the Al Grey album! And the Cleanhead Vinson. Also have the Slam Stewart
  17. Love me some Henze! Great to see Oehms producing another symphony cycle.
