The ONLY reason I'm selling is because they now duplicate my big box. I love this music.

what's the diff between electric bass and electro-acoustic bass?
Pete B replied to alocispepraluger102's topic in Miscellaneous Music
I've tried out two or three different ones in the past. The setups feel different - the strings were at a much lower tension. Also, there was significantly longer sustain. I never found one that I really liked, but i was on a budget and did not audition any of the high-end makes. I heard David Freisen play one a few years ago in a duet with a guitarist and he was brilliant. He also plays his while seated. He achieves a sound very much like that of an acoustic bass. -

Heritage (My Mother, My Father and Love)#2 * indicates a piece or take not on the original issue "The musical number and their succession on this CD strictly follow the only known live recording of the show, as it was performed on the 25th of August 1963. This recording was found on a casette tape in Mercer Ellington's collection. The sound quality of the tape is very poor...the tape is invaluable to document how the show was performed. All numbers on the tape except two were also recorded in the studio during the three recording sessions in Chicago August 1963 the 20th, the 21st, and the 27th, so it has been possible to recreate the (almost) complete performance in great sound quality." -
Ya'll are too kind. Thanks!

Jeeves & Wooster: The Complete Series - $17.67 http://www.amazon.com/Jeeves-Wooster-Complete-Hugh-Laurie/dp/B001V7UXG2/ref=sr_1_157?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1338059483&sr=1-157 This is a very amusing set. These are nice adaptations of P.G. Wodehouse stories. A completely different character for Hugh Laurie - to me, at least, much more entertaining than the surly Dr. House.
-
This is a beautiful set, well conceived and nicely done. I've had it for a while now. I've made my way through the first six discs and it has been a joy and a pleasure. Now the studio should do the same treatment for their silent films. PB

Classic Coleman Hawkins Sessions Available for Preorder!
Pete B replied to golfcrazy1984's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
[Dang, that's cold! But, you've decided for me. Cognac it is. I readily admit to enjoying cognac, but knowing very little about it. Any suggestions for a mid-price selection? (Is there such a thing as budget cognac?) Buy VSOP (very special old pale) of any brand if you can afford it. They're all good. If VSOPis too dear, I prefer Martell VSP. No such thing a budget cognac. In this case you get what you pay for. -
