With Kenny Barron on Fender it has a feel of mid-70s Muse sessions but is more heavily produced. Bunky Green on alto, which is always a plus. Although no masterpiece, this one is under-rated. In fact, Elvin still had groups somewhat in this style when I saw him at Scotts around 1980 and Ryo Kawasaki was still there on guitar I think (correction - it was Fumio Kawashima). I bought this one from Mole nearly 40 years ago now () and always thought that it and the ‘To Duke With Love’ were brilliant. A clean up on the VPI and it is sounding magnificent. Plus - Cedar Walton, Sam Jones and Billy Higgins were never captured better IMO.
