Mr. Spaulding is still very much alive and performing last I heard - in particular in and around Brooklyn.
Check out his newest release -- Round To It Vol. 2 -- recorded live at Brooklyn's Up Over Jazz Café.
Hi Rooster,
What HolyStitt said -- if you go CD shopping here, definitely go The Electric Fetus in Minneapolis.
Electric Fetus
2000 4th Ave S.
Minneapolis, MN 55404
(612) 870-9300
Great selection, lots of jazz titles. The Walker is also highly recommended.
Thanks, Free For All ;-)
I have some weird, chronic, painful neuropathic condition in my left leg that they can't seem
to diagnose definitively. I take MS Contin 60 mg daily (aka The Rush Limbaugh Special) and
it hardly makes a dent in my pain.
Last year I had:
Angio MRI (very high resolution MRI w/dye injection)
lower and upper pelvic MRI
lower and upper thorasic MRI
brain MRI (w/dye injection)
lumbar puncture aka the dreaded "Spinal Tap" (never again)
I'm off to the Mayo Clinic in March.
I'll add these 2 fine players:
Booker Pittman (very scant discography)
Frankie Newton (ditto)
Looking for Booker Pittman's "News from Brazil Bossa Nova"
Walt Weiskopf - Andy Fusco: Tea for Two (Criss Cross 1265)
Walt Weiskopf, tenor sax; Andy Fusco, alto sax; Joel Weiskopf,
piano; Paul Gill, bass; Billy Drummond, drums.
Last year, I bought a jazz CD in, of all places, a middle-eastern restaurant on the Northside
of Chicago by a local trumpeter by the name of Yves Francois (nee Yves Smierciak).
