  1. Their therapist Phil Towle was somethin' else! His ugly sweaters were right outta the Cosby collection. Lars dad Torben Ulrich was also good.
  2. Vitamin E, A, & C plus NAC (N-Acetyl-Cysteine) for extra immunity.
  3. The phone number the guy gives out in the ad (805-965-2161) comes back as: American Pie Records, 614 N Milpas St, Santa Barbara, CA 93103 He's gotten some negative feedback for selling trashed records... http://www.toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?User=...ived+by&Many=ON Typical comments: "These albums should have been thrown away, not sold!!" "Got ripped off! Nearly all albums were scratched or warped." "70% scratched, worn out, NOT original."
  4. Has Booker Pittman's "News From Brazil" ever been reissued on CD? Has any Booker Pittman ever been reissued on CD? Apparently, Pittman is collectible. Here's a copy of News From Brazil Bossa Nova I found on popsike.com: http://www.popsike.com/php/detaildata.php?itemnr=4064903272
  5. I have the excellent "Living on the Edge" and a few others. "The Struggle Continues" really should be on CD by now.
  6. Thanks for the recommendation. I'm off to get a copy. About a month ago, I saw Joe on a TV show called "Jazz Pads" on the BET jazz network. The show visits musicians on their home turf and takes a personal look at their lives. Joe came across as a friendly, warm, unpretentious guy.
  7. The Northside JRM closed around 1995 or '96 - it was right by the Jewel grocery store on Lincoln & Western. In 2000, I was at the Golden Angel restaurant on North Lincoln when Bob Koester rudely butted in on a private conversation I was having with my friend and folk legend Michael Hurley. We were talking about the music business and of course he was sitting alone nearby listening in and couldn't 'help himself' give us his opinion about selling music online. He finally shut up, left, only to come back 5 minutes later to spiel some more!
  8. Yep, I saw it too. Good doc. IMDB: "Affectionate portrait of Tim "Speed" Levitch, a tour guide for Manhattan's Gray Line double-decker buses. He talks fast, is in love with the city, and dispenses historical facts, architectural analysis, and philosophical musings in equal measures. He's reflective and funny about cruising: he loves it, got in it to meet women, and he'd quit work if he could. His personal life is disclosed in small doses: he takes home $200 a week for 20 hours work, home is his suitcase and wherever he can flop, he's been arrested for going out on the roof tops of skyscrapers to see his city; he stands between the towers of the World Trade Center, spins until he's dizzy, then looks up."
  9. Check this out: www.popsike.com "At popsike.com, you can check the final auction price that a certain record has brought. Although this might not be a true indication of the record's real value, it does show what collectors are paying for rare items." Worth a bookmark.
