on the other hand, I have noticed that one of the nice things about the LP market is that prices these days seem very reasonable; one can big up a lot of nice stuff very affordably. actually a lot of de-clicking can be done by hand, VERY CAREFULLY, by editing the wave form - I have yet to hear an inexpensive program that does this automatically without degredation of sound - I do think 16 bit diting can be done without any loss, if the converters are good, and I have done a number of CD projects for companies working from LP originals -

please don't advocate for Russell - it is a complete work of fiction - I knew a few musicians mentioned in that book and they, without exception, held it in nothing but contempt -
