  1. Definitely--a terrific deal.
  2. Catesta, Let me know the where and when of lunch/dinner with Maren- if I possibly can, I'd love to join you folks. I can then meet my first board members. Very cool. I'm going to leave picking the place to maren. My guess, lunch would be somewhere around Union Square. I'll be in touch. Also, keep us posted about the Philly visit if you want to meet some of the rest of us. B-)
  3. Well THAT explains it. (You guys must use quite a bit of that stuff in NW Arkansas.)
  4. Hmmmm . . . . it said I'm immortal. Maybe I shouldn't have fudged on some of those answers.
  5. Gee, I didn't realize that oregano is that expensive.
  6. You guys sound like me! My wife's always complaining that I don't have any "real" friends. I tell her that I have a bunch of great friends on the computer, but to her, you guys don't count. That's funny--I don't count to MY wife, either.
  7. Yeah, but these days, what doesn't?
  8. So what date and time should we be at your house?
  9. But only if you don't acquire even one more CD or LP--otherwise, you're on borrowed time.
  10. AND, Bertrand's got at least 2 continents covered.
  11. Oh yeah, we Easterners are REAL friendly.
  12. Alan Lankin. [end of list] Looks like you mid- and southwesterners are a much friendlier bunch than us easterners. Maybe we need a visit from THE BAND to get us all together. Or maybe just Rachel.
  13. That sounded like a late-60's protest song, until the end. And even then, it still sounds like some kind of protest song! Dylan's first performance of "Jane Fonda, She Is A-Changin'" (subtitled, "Don't Click [Your Mouse] Twice, It's All Right"):
  14. Well, it DID help her win an Academy Award.
  15. When and where is that? I'm just getting back into guitar-playing after decades out of it, so I really haven't been aware of the show. http://www.bee3vintage.com/ It's been 3 years since I went to it, but I'd like to try and make it in June. I'm there, man. I'm only a few miles from the Ft. Washington Expo Center. Remind me again in a couple of months.

  17. It's too bad nobody's yet found the long-lost Adderley session tapes featuring Jim's 2 orginal compositions "SHAZAAAAM!" and "GOLLLLLLLY!" I've heard they were smokin'!
  18. According to Fantasy's site, it's Roi Nabors.
  19. Both Nabors sets are among my all-time favorite Mosaics, along with the Lawrence Welk and the Kenny G and Jimi Hendrix Selects (with thanks to AfricaBrass and BFrank for turning me on to these wonderful sets)
  20. That looks great, Scott--much classier looking and now it doesn't look like Darth Vader's guitar (did you know he played?) . I'm sure it now sounds as good as it looks. Too bad Arkansas isn't a little closer to Philly--I could have given you your next project. I just took my new Agile Cool Cat jazz box to a luthier to change the pups to Duncan Seth Lover 55's and to do a set-up.
  21. You know, you can download the entire catalog from the Fantasy web site as a 23.1 MB PDF file. Of course, it helps to have a broadband connection.
  22. Isn't that what I FREAKIN' SAID???
  23. Nice setup, and that's a sweet guitar! I used to have a Roland JC-120 amp like that. I wish I still had it. I picked up the Roland a week after getting the Ibanez. I had been running my tele through a Line 6 2-10 amp, and it just was not a good amp for the Ibanez (which incidentally had been souped up with the addition of Seymour Duncans) This particular Roland is a newer generation amp, and it just isn't as quiet as the old ones were - or at least I think so. Is it normal to hear a hiss when no signal is going through the amp? I mean, it is powered up of course, and the gtr is plugged in, but even with the volume on the gtr dialed down, I hear hiss. It isn't that bad, but I guess I expected total silence. One other thing, the amp is a bitch to cart around; I am grateful for the casters. I just got a new 30-watt Vox Valvetronix (has a tube in the preamp), and also was surprised to hear significant hiss coming from it when the master volume is up a bit, even when there's nothing plugged into it. Jeff Blake told me that his tube amp also has hiss, so I just assumed that it's because of the tube.
  24. And don't forget Rex Harrison in MY FAIR LADY.
  25. 300 block of Pine. Is that your flag?
