That's a great one, paps! I'm mad about Roy Eldridge's playing in the 50s. He's also fantastic on Mingus and Roach's Newport Rebels.

Just spinning my vinyl copy. Pleased to see Track 1 is called "Pap's Blues"! Note for Sidewinder: Bought this Japanese Verve re-issue in 1984 from Dobell's at their final resting place in a back street in Covent Garden. It was my one and only purchase from those premises; I never managed to find them again before they folded. Their inaccessibility was doubtless a factor in their collapse!
