There is, in fact, a surprising amount of jazz around, being used as background, mood-creating music. Starbucks in this country plays jazz of the classic era just about all the time, as far as i can make out. On the rare occasions I go in, I sit there thinking, "That's Cannonball", "That's Bobby Timmons", etc. It's obvious no one else is doing this, but then they're all 40+ years younger than me.
