Bill Goodwin, together with Tom Harrell, Hal Galper and Steve Gilmore, was part of that great quintet that Phil Woods had for some years in the 1980s. I saw Bill Goodwin with a big band that Phil Woods brought to Wigan about twenty years ago. Sounds like you had a good time last night, Tom!

Yes, I have a copy of that one by Mike Hennessey too. Never realised he (Klook, that is) was married at one time to Annie Ross ! No mention of marriage so far, just that he got her pregnant when she was 19 and he was 17 years older! As to your copy, I notice Amazon.uk is asking about £75 for a used copy. (Mine's from the public library.)

Now that takes me back! I last saw that album in the early 60s, but never heard it. But I did get to see the two hornmen on it - Williams in a package with Thad Jones/Mel Lewis and Leo Wright with a local quartet - both here in Manchester in the late 60s.
