  4. I've had and sold at least a dozen Transitions over the years. The records are made of brittle polystyrene (as opposed to vinyl), and the labels invariably become unglued, sometimes getting lost. I've reglued many of the ones I've had. I've replaced most of my originals with Japanese pressings because the vinyl is so much better, and people are willing to pay crazy money for originals.
  5. The right records can bring big dollars on Ebay. There are plenty of dealers offering low price junk, but when original Blue Notes in good condition are listed, they usually end up bringing serious prices. Try doing a search for some of the titles you have under "completed listings". You may be happy with what you see. If you choose to list the records, make sure that you list the address on the label and on the jacket, and show a picture of the jacket and the label with your listing. Good luck!

  8. Big fan here! I watched this show religiously when it first aired. This was around the time when I first had a VCR, still a novelty at the time, and found myself taping the show, and liking certain episodes so much I'd watch them a second time a few days later. Have considered renting the DVD's, but I suspect that even after all these years I still remember the episodes too well.

  17. This seems a little strange, as Wayne left the band many years ago, and the remaining three continued for some time without him. I'm surprised that the other three would allow Henderson use of the name, although they dropped the "Jazz" a long time ago.

  21. Chester Conn - Bennie Krueger - Ned Miller - Jule Styne The song is copyrighted 1926. Jean Goldkette made a recording of it that year, so he may be among the first.
  22. A friend who saw him in Europe this summer said that he looked very frail, and had to be helped on stage. Hopefully this is a temporary situation.
  23. As I recall, the lyrics went "TM (repeated a few times), In the AM, In the PM, Aaaahhh, Jai Guru Dev" I kinda liked the track at the time, being a fan of the Beach Boys' lush harmony. "Warm Waters" was severely marred, as I recall, by Lloyd's vocals, and the Beach Boys were less involved.
