Etherbord, I found your online jazz twin. B-) Hmm, think I need to get that Paul Bley Mercury. http://musicpower.080.net/newbb/viewthread...=2&sid=3q4o2zTf

...and don't forget Jimmy Smith. Okay, well how 'bout "Jubilee Shout" or "Z.T's Blues" then?
-
Yes, that would be another good one.

It would be nice to see 'The Rajah'. Not many older copies floating around....and forget about trying to find the TOCJ.

Upcoming MOSAICS (resuming)

What a great outfit they are. With your post in mind, I just went and had a look at my order history to double-check on the 'Jazztet' order/cancellation 'dance' that I went through with their customer servive reps 2 months ago....and the only previous orders that are listed are ones from a few years ago, including one for 10 items that was apparently shipped. Problem is, it wasn't an order I ever placed. No way there would have been a bunch of Jimmy Smith cds in one of my orders... no way! -
got this via email, so don't know how true

Too bad Naomi Campbell didn't have enough change in her coin purse to cover a measly little $4k dinner. I've got leftover turkey & stuffing for her. Naomi Campbell bust-up over £2K restaurant bill November 29, 2004 Naomi Campbell has allegedly been involved in a bust-up over paying the bill in a London restaurant. The 34-year-old supermodel was eating out with her boyfriend Usher and several friends when she was presented with a £2,000 bill. But sources claim the catwalk queen was expecting to eat on the house at the swanky eatery Cipriani, co-owned by her ex-lover Flavio Briatore. A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "She was kicking off, saying she wasn't going to pay and that as a personal friend of Flavio she shouldn't have to pay. She looked furious. "In the end Flavio was called and he told staff to waive the bill. -
A little medical advice, please...

Geez I'd missed this thread while traveling....sorry to hear it. My initial reaction was that it sounded eerily reminiscent of what happened to our 30-year-old next door neighbor on X-Mas eve three years ago. She'd been down at the gym working out (doing some gymnastic moves) and developed a headache later in the evening..then the dizzyness and all the rest of it. There was blockage of the artery in the brain but it was too difficult to get at and they left it there but thankfully it dissolved itself. But based on your most recent posts seems as though they've ruled that out...so hopefully they zero in on it when you have the Mon. tests. My wife's advice is to be the best case manager you can be, have multiple copies of everything, and bring them along every time you visit a new doctor (or even your own at first -- don't need to tell them you don't trust their record-keeping until they don't have everything). Pester people, (politely, but firmly) and never hesitate to get a second or third opinion. Communication from the folks who do the scans and read them back to other doctors is not necessarily timely (or on your schedule) so never presume that this kind of information has been transferred. Bottom line, ask, ask, ask. Some of the doctors best work is when they consult with each other -- adding knowledge and brainstorming -- so if nothing else, ask the various specialists if they would mind having a conference call (set up by your primary Dr. ) Don't worry, they'll figure it all out and you'll be good to go. -

If you wanna really help hone that kids tactical skills give him a quick pre-lesson tour of the political forum and we'll let Ghost, Chris & Groper shatter his rook, pulverize his knight & pilfer his bishop's pockets in no time flat....a helpful lesson he'll never forget. -
I actually prefer the Cuozzo/Costa match-up on this one over the 'Mighty Mike' cd. I love Kenny Clarke...but Stabulas sounds 'better' to me on this one too! *** Dumb question time ......but with so many labels playing the 're-master this & that out the whazoo' game, why doesn't Fresh Sounds follow suit (or do they?)? These discs were put out in '88-'89....so why not get into the act? Cost prohibitive? No interest? Other?

I didn't hear anything odd w/this one couw.......anyone else check the cd?

I just discovered that a copy of David Pate's 1981 lp 'Soliloquies' has been sitting undisturbed in the stax for a looooong time. Didn't realize that he wound up with the Sam Rivers Big Band. Can't find a thing about the label out of Ridgefield Park, NJ. Long gone?

I played a quick game with my 7-year-old daughter yesterday morning. I'd only put down a half cup of coffee and wasn't fully focused and she nailed my Queen (at least that's my excuse). -

Has anyone seen 'The Earth From Above' exhibit? Apparently it's been making the rounds for 3 or 4 years now but I happened to stumble upon an outdoor display in Vienna a few weeks back and was very impressed. For those who haven't seen it, there are a series of photos shot from a helicopter hovering at 150 feet or so.....absolutely stunning shots. Wanted to bring back a copy of the oversize book but it was pretty hefty so I decided to try and find one floating around over here. One of the more humorous photos was a colony of nudists basking on a French beach.......the photo that was displayed directly opposite this one had a similar mob of basking sea lions. Funny stuff.
