Baby Face Willette
Son-of-a-Weizen replied to slide_advantage_redoux's topic in Artists & Recordings
I only have a couple of jazz organ cds in the collection and have been sampling a couple of cuts here and there. This Baby Face Willette (TOCJ-6471) sample track ('Swingin w/Sugar Ray) sounds pretty hot. If the rest of the disc sounds like this, I'll definitely have to spring for it. -

World? Not likely....that would be Amsterdam. I know about Boston...I'm an area native. DC probably has a leg up on 'em. -

I certainly wouldn't get the Patton B'Day and Hugo bone orchard date (1885)...but I would correctly peg the beginning of the Thirty Years War - 1618. What in blazes are they teachin' up there in those NY public schools, Alex?? -

Zamfir had a similar problem in Romania... ← A tactless allusion, no doubt, to my confiding in you the Night Lights September schedule, which includes "Man With a Pan: Zamfir, the Early Years." Sorry for letting the cat outta the bag. Hey, be sure to spin a few from his classic 'Ete D'amour' LP. I had to fight off the chicks whenever I played that one at our college dorm parties in '79! Maybe you can bring me on as a special guest during the program and I'll tell ya all about it? -

Um, it's really about a college graduate tossing out Pearl Harbor as a response. It's not at all unfair to have a laugh about that on a bulletin board. -

Truthfully......yes. At first I thought she was just ginnin' me.....but then... Got back in the car and told my kids. Even the 8-year-old knew there was something seriously wrong with that answer and was only off by a century with her PH correction. -

Less than an hour ago, I bought a lb. of Kenyan coffee and, when the $10.66 total flashed up on the register, proceeded to jokingly ask the part-time Starbucks employee (and recent college grad) what famous event occurred in the year 1066? Her response: Pearl Harbor. She then said something about having just received a big promotion at her principal place of employment.....some large insurance company. -

http://cgi.ebay.com/MILES-DAVID-CD-In-Pers...1QQcmdZViewItem Three months down the road, the same seller is operating under a new name and still using the false import SACD line (at least he's posting pics this time). This guy's feedback is too much! What a cornhole. __________________________________ Buyer dixon64 ( 298) May-07-05 12:47 Took two months to mail CD! Very Displeased!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you go to his site and click the CD Universe link, they show a track 7 ('Theme For Maxene'). That a CDU error?

Oh I get it....you heard that the Exxon-Mobil CEO (Lee Raymond) stepped down last week and you're looking to land the job? Having just made the DC to Maine & back trip on #95 and taken evasive action to avoid collisions twice, under no circumstances will I ditch my large 8-cylinder sedan for the type of small vehicle Kevin mentions. I'll pay $7..$9...$11 a gallon and, if necessary, sell off every jazz cd and '69/'70 Red Sox baseball card!

Well as long as you bypass the Boston operation, which is staffed by troglodyte yahoos, your best bet would be to dump Armani in favor of Ralph Lauren. BTW, WSJ last week had a piece about the return of velvet for men & women.....a much higher quality product than the stuff that shocked & awed (Robert Goulet & powder blue ) ...and then died in the 70's. I'm thinkin' black forest green crushed velvet blazer myself....
