  2. Nice. Did you make it to Columbia Road accidentally?
  3. I assume you saw this review. https://londonjazznews.com/2021/10/04/keith-tippett-weekend-bristol-beacon-st-georges-bristol/ I also got a review from Bev (A Lark Ascending) that confirmed how moving the event was
  4. Lovely. Saw them perform it at Kings Place
  5. Kochi - Wishes [East Wind, 1976] Kikuchi, Hino, Liebman, Mtume, Grossman, Lucas, Foster and Jackson hitting a very Milesian groove
  6. Polly Jean Norma Jean Jean Cocteau
  7. Is that album worth getting? Line-up certainly suggests so but I can't work out if it's a live recording and therefore potentially not great SQ

  11. I remember buying that when it came out. Good times.
  12. Tyshawn Sorey - Pillars IV [Firehouse 12, 2018]
  13. That makes a lot of sense. They said their next stock was due end Nov and would be 1500 so worth keeping an eye on Accidents do happen...
  14. Stenson The Necks or The Knack?
  15. Just found the card they gave me 'VDS', only web presence is Instagram. Had a good few hundred all Japanese stock. Jazz, Funk and other sections I didn't look at. Jazz was 50s through to new releases. Two I bought are NM, looked a pretty good set up. I stumbled across it whilst killing time after picking purchases up from WoE. They had the Texture Sextet which I have been after for ages.
  16. World Of Echo and another on Columbia Road. The second is stocking Japanese imports exclusively and is split with a wine retailer.
  17. Yes indeed. saw them play it live. Speake deserves a higher profile. I'm not even sure how he got that ECM date really. Me too now
  18. As this seems to be turning into a bit of a Prince thread...I'm happy to say that I thought at the time, and still do, that he was a major talent producing some great albums - the run from 'Dirty Mind' through to 'Lovesexy' was one of the strongest of the time. He wrote some great songs, just try listening to 'Parade'. I was hearing and buying these as they came out and I always thought 'Purple Rain' was the weakest of that fine bunch though. Back to 80s Jazz, really looking forward to the blog as it runs through from the time I was starting to listen to Jazz from about 80/81 (hope that album's in the list )
  19. Yes, I suspect as much. I read that BN have posted the cover on one of their social feeds with a 'watch this space' message so they probably want to tease it up a bit more
  20. And for me it's Maupin's playing that makes the boxset. I love how we all hear things so differently, this would be a mighty boring place if we didn't, that's for sure
  21. highly recommended to anyone who enjoys some Folk and those who might
  22. Visit to two new to me shops
  23. £££ and space, no other reasons. Love the albums, all of them in their different ways and have them on LP and/or CD. I've really enjoyed the TP remasters and will be sorely tempted by this set
  24. The linked page seems to have been taken down now
  25. Tina Brooks Quintet - The Complete Blue Note Recordings [Mosaic, 1985] LP.3 'Back To The Tracks'
