  1. Gil Scott-Heron & Brian Jackson - South Africa to South Carolina [Arista, 1975]
  2. There seems to be a lot not to overlook
  3. Thanks a lot. On this now
  4. So far I've gone for late 50s through to a Muse. I saw a Novus, how are the later dates?
  5. Definitely! I can't believe I've slept on him for so long. I have another three in the post at the moment. My new obsession... He's hitting a similar spot that Yusef Lateef does for me. Thank you for all your Moody posts that eventually nudged me in the right direction.
  6. James Moody -s/t [Cadet/GRT, 1975] first of a number of new Moody LPs I'm hoping will arrive soon.
  7. I regret not going to that. Saw Hebden and Reid which was excellent. They were on a bill with The Thing so it so nearly could have happened that night too.
  8. John Carter - Dance Of The Love Ghosts [Gramavision, 1987] powerful
  9. Thanks, I like that description of them. I will definitely been checking the other two. Already have 'Solo/Quartet' which is very special, I agree
  10. Are the pies any good?
  11. Bobby Hutcherson - Conception: The Gift Of Love [Columbia, 1979] I've largely ignored BH after his Blue Note years. On this evidence that has been foolhardy. Any views on the other Columbia releases?
  12. Ted Curson - Pop Wine [Soufflé Continu, France 2021]
  13. Milt Jackson - At The Museum Of Modern Art [Mercury Limelight UK, 1965 mono]
  14. James Moody - Feelin' It Together [Muse, 1974] Proof positive, if any were needed, that listening to the consensus opinion here pays dividends. My first Moody LP purchased yesterday simply because of all the positivity towards him here, led unflaggingly by @HutchFan Absolutely feeling it, worth the entry fee for 'Wave' alone. Two more Moody albums ordered already Edit: make that five more ordered as they're all less than £10 each, some just £5 which is about as cheap as it gets for used vinyl here these days.
  15. I only know Bheki too, well worth investigating. I'll be interested to hear your impressions as your investigations proceed
  16. That's sad I didn't realise he was UK based. I listened to a lot of his work as MD and arranger for Van Morrison.
  17. Souffle Continu reissue
  18. Lindy Morrison Sir Ivan George Morrison The Lizard King
  19. That's really interesting. I never realised that Szabo worked with Womack and would never have guessed it. And that 'Breezin' was the result.
