  5. i have an item here in the can for later consumption asserting that the most radioactivity you get each day is crawling into bed with your lover, or was that your horn? you horny guys are crumudgenous condommed conundrums.
  6. your hooch is radioactive inasmuch as perfectly good spirits can be rendered from crude oil, one wonders if any countries or cultures have legalized the product.
  7. that is, all day, except for the 6 hour homily delivered by shameless schaapy from noon to 6 pm est.
  8. Much to my surprise, it hasn't worked on the Joachim Kuhn and Karl Berger recordings. pick on KJ all you like, but leave my buddy jk alone.
  9. i cart around a tiny rca pearl($15)with usb plug and keep at hand an inexpensive external drive of 500 g.of music. 1 aaa battery lasts at least 50 hours. there is the rechargable battery option, of course. with a nice set of phones, the sound is fabulous. moving the music in and out is effortless. i reduce the file sizes to 64 k. by using mp3 pro. i put my vinyls, cds, radio programs, and tapes on the ext. drive. the pearls are all but extinct, so i have purchased 4 backups. the rca pearl is not sexy, trendy, or costly, but, then, i'm not either.
  10. max roach music all day, on the anniversary of his birth. ....one of my favorite annual broadcasts on wkcr. max roach radio
  11. worrisome, to me, is that the recent seattle victory would help the nfl rationalize expanding the field of playoff teams. the league has never let anything get in the way of making another 10 million bucks.
  12. 20 cents a dance
  13. i'm bumbling around looking for am stations doing colt or jet broadcasts. network shills don't do it for me. give me homers any day.

  16. monk and mulligan is about as disparate a pairing as these ears can stomach. i have a pairing of pee wee russell and red allen--now that's good. has anyone mentioned the metheny-ornette disasters?

  20. the local wosu outlet is now carrying classical music, albeit mostly the classical top 50. at least, that foregoes the dread npr signal.
  21. progress
  22. ted is the guest host on wkcr until 9pm eastern, playing some great sides, if you enjoy early lee konitz and his amazing compatriots. he just mentioned studying with lenny from 48 to 55. wkcr
  23. wosu makes changes npr all day, all the time. there, of course, will be a minor satellite playing canned classics. jazz and classical music with intelligent commentary are becoming a thing of the past. in my half century years of listening to wosu-am and fm, there were many splendid hosts and commentators who daily shared their love and knowledge of music, and taste, and a piece of their lives with us listeners. i miss their companionship. one article suggests that my local satellite will carry the news service and another says that classical will be broadcast. time will tell.
