to hear the irrepressible jimmy smith playing in handcuffs with organ and drums recorded on the left coast and a bunch of string arrangements recorded on the right coast playing a platter full of afterhours ballads is more than i can bear. this album is more depressing than most funerals.

sadly the last hour of your 11-03-08 edition were not on the archive. those 2 barton moments hours every week may be the most sensitive creative hours i hear all week, and i hear a lot. this is beautiful.

i just finished listening to(and recording) last week's program. this makes very lovely early sunday morning listening. it would be hard to imagine a more satisfying, or moving program. thank you for your efforts, and your taste.
