  1. i have used this little basic product for 7 or 8 years and it is just awesome.(it used to be 10 bucks) read the reviews. i am very happy with the inexpensive standard version. http://www.highcriteria.com/ the support they offer is very excellent. after i record the shows or my vinyls, i make mp3s and put them on cd-r.

  8. Actually he did two, didn't he? One was "Officium," which was a beautiful album. I forget the name of the other one. i think garbarek is miscast as a jazz artist. his profound meditative and contemplative sides trump his other stuff.
  9. garbarek did a duo album with pipe organ, which i love, and the hilliard stuff is gorgeous.
  10. egberto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! actually i prefer egberto to towner on both guitars and keyboards.
  11. chesy indeed! dis, by garbarek and towner is a most beautiful album, however.
  12. http://www.columbia.edu/cu/wkcr/ nest weekend, a couple days of ornette
  13. I must transfer that one from LP. Here's another hidden Towner, only available now as part of a 3CD Azimuth box - Winstone, Taylor, Wheeler + Towner: agreed. i'm lucky enough to have the vinyl.

  15. world, i agree. a magnificent long forgotten towner ecmer(trio) is batik with eddie gomez and probably jack. it is so very beautiful with tons of energy and really moves. solstice, with an all-star cast, is inspired music. i own a couple paul winter discs with towner, also.
  16. I am obsessed with this album. i quite understand. it is awesome!
  17. i have on tape a great duo set stan did in france with elvin in the early 80's. i hope that is released someday.
  18. a few rarely mentioned jewels are the soundtrack of mickey one, getz and fiedler at tanglewood, for musicians only with sonny stitt and diz, and a gorgeous string album (cool velvet) arranged by russ garcia.
  19. they sure sold a lot of records. many folks sell many records, and many are seldom, if ever, played. the five's records were often played till they wore out.
  20. thanks MG. i just ordered 'blow...' it was only 5 or 6 bucks at amazon.
  21. phil played a gorgeous clarinet solo on a petula clark(warm and tender) cover of joni's 'he played real good' which is one of the most moving and beautiful pieces i own, not to speak of the hundreds of recordings we all own of phil in an orchestra or small group.
  22. thanks, guys!
