  12. "BTW, alociswhatever, I am one who likes Kenton's interpretations of Wagner. " Bravo!
  13. Of course! One of those outstanding albums she recorded for Owl (others are with Amina Claudine Myers and Ran Blake). I have been a fan of this wonderful woman since I met her in the late '60s after she arrived in Europe. She is thoroughly being missed as a person and as a singer! with miss amina, too. god! i sure hope to find that one. (i have, if i can find it, a cassette tape of miss amina in concert in a club in the early 80's performing on piano an impassioned extended(20 minute) stupendous 'song for mother e', which recalls richter's solo 'pictures.' the body trembles to think of it.)
  14. am i the only person alive(?) who digs kenton's wagner recording?

  18. bengals play in pittsfield next sunday night. no way will that field be ready.
  19. aloc, I lived in Pittsburgh in the 70s when the Steelers were winning their Super Bowls, and each year that they won Iron City Beer had a can with a photo of the team on it! how about last year?
  20. thank you both, very much! i dont know the Guadayninos, but will ask around.
  21. boomer esiason, doing the radio broadcast of the game, mentioned that the nfl last year made the pats switch to field turf, but not yet the steelers. the field is unacceptable. when i think of the steelers, i think of iron city beer. the only cheap beer at hand is natty ice, so that is adding to my enjoyment of the most boring game ever.
  22. does anyone who doesnt make many cell calls (i make very few) use the prepaid (or pay as you go plans) where the minutes are good for a year? recommendations? it seems like this would save a fair amount of money for many of us(so we can buy more music).
  23. i cant imagine gibbs not throwing in the towel after this season, which has been just not good for a coaches health. apparently, joe is too cantankerous for nascar's #20, jackie stewart. at the toyota press conference he said, let the old man stay over there.
  24. used to play that when baseball umpires came on the field.
