  1. hey, i've got the drums unlimited. thanks. The Soul Note album is not necessarily a "good album", but it fits the bill of "free jazz christmas music" just fine. One side's a dark poetry/jazz thing w/Max's Odean band, the other sides a freeboppish improv thing w/Lee Konitz & Tony Scott added. Not gonna be on anybody's "recommended" list, I'm sure, but it's a good one to have anyway, just because. there is very little tony scott that i dont love, or lee, for that matter. thanks.
  2. I always knew he was a sell-out! bley played a standard in one of his recordings and never played the tune.

  16. aloc for many years was known as dr. smith to several close friends for his remarkable physical and psychological similarities to dr. smith(jonathan harris) of lost in space. the physical similarities have lessened over the decades, but thankfully, the huge character(?) flaws remain totally intact.

  23. mercury recordings of the late 50's/early 60's had this awesome smell when you opened the jacket. it seemed to be on the vinyl itself. they should have marketed the fragrance. as i recall, the capitol's smelled nice, too, but not that great. does anyone recall any top smelling vinyls?
