heard an interview with him in 1981 where he was considering just then amplifying his bass. relisten to ascension. the recording grows more beautiful with each hearing, and art davis' bass is a huge part of it.

Competing plans for San Fran skyscraper Tue Aug 7, 4:15 PM ET Architects unveiled three competing plans for a new downtown skyscraper and transit hub that would be the West Coast's tallest building. "Today is an historic day," Mayor Gavin Newsom said as he pulled away a black cloth covering the three elaborate models at a City Hall ceremony Monday. The three designs range in height from 1,200 feet to 1,375 feet — each much taller than the 853-foot Transamerica Pyramid, currently San Francisco's tallest building. At 1,018 feet, the U.S. Bank Tower in downtown Los Angeles is now the West Coast's tallest building. Each tower design tops a transit terminal that would become the Bay Area's regional transportation hub, with plans calling for bus service, commuter rail, and eventually high-speed rail. The designs also emphasize environmental sustainability, with such design elements as rooftop wind turbines that would generate power for the complex. A jury that includes architects, engineers and a transportation expert will recommend a winning design later this month to the Transbay Joint Powers Authority, a regional agency created in 2001 to oversee the construction of the new transit terminal. The authority is expected to name a winner in September and the transit station is slated to open by 2014. ___ Information from: San Francisco Chronicle, http://www.sfgate.com/chronicle

Do we really need to insure our citizens against stupidity? Dealing with "reality", we will insure them if "Wall St" will be damaged. What a bag of crap. decent mandatory basic economics courses for high school students (and high school teachers) would be a good place to start. -

Well, that's all Cramer's interested in. He doesn't care about the people who lose their homes. He cares about the Countrywides and the mortgage companies where he's got his money invested. Still, he's right about Bernake and the Fed. 17 straight increases without a single cut. They're likely concerned about the dollar. I say who cares about the dollar. If it falls low enough we might actually have some foreign countries set up their companies here again. The unemployed need a lower dollar and they need jobs. isnt countrywide one of the more secure ones? -

Yeah, I'm just a drummer w/ no savings, in a rental property, hustling gigs, doing drum lessons, and managing to pay monthly bills with a few bucks left over for gas, recreation, occasional dinner & wine, and of course groceries... I'm sure the yuppies in the sprawls near my place know more about the terminology you are doing really well, compared to a couple of my free-drummer friends. -

NFL chat thread
alocispepraluger102 replied to connoisseur series500's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
The sticking point between cable companies and NFL Network is that the cable companies want the channel to be a "premium" channel they can charge extra money for. The NFL wants the channel available to anyone with the expanded basic (analog) cable package at no additional charge to the customers. That's where it's sat for a few years now. Comcast announced their intention to move the channel into their "sports package", in response the NFL put a letter on their website telling people they should cancel their Comcast in protest and go with Directv. time warner doesnt carry nfl net. aloc, being a steeler fan, must resort to listening to the broadcast over nfl gameday, which makes all broadcasts for the season available for $29.95 on broadband, and is better quality sound than mlb broadband efforts. the steeler cast, minus the remarkable myron cope, is still listenable. wfan carries the giants. -
