Wednesday and Thursday they have pianist Ethan Iverson coming in with a really interesting group - it's a quartet with saxophonists Tim Berne and Sam Newsome. Playing drums is the legendary Andrew Cyrille. This is, as far as I know, the first appearance of Andrew Cyrille at Smalls and we are eagerly looking forward to hearing him. Ethan always presents challenging and off-beat shows and this one should be no different.

I'm pleased to say that the old ride cymbal that was taken from Smalls Jazz Club a few months ago was returned to us last night by a person who will remain anonymous. Glad to have it back.
