  11. i was going through a nearby abandoned rail siding and saw 2 old unused cabooses with an artificial bouquet where they were coupled. this led to some speculation on where the bouquet came from and why and where these cabooses may have rolled and the characters that rode them. in the process, a mother goose, sitting on her nest of eggs on the rails, tried to attack me, getting really close to pecking my eyeballs. fortunately for me, i once ran track.

  17. http://mediadecoder....ctory-in-court/ "A dispute between the children of Ray Charles and the foundation to which he left most of his money is the latest battleground in one of the entertainment industry’s most contentious issues: the “termination rights” that allow artists and their families to recover the copyrights to their work from third parties like record companies or publishers. Last week a federal judge in California ruled that the Ray Charles Foundationcannot interfere with the efforts of seven of Charles’s 12 surviving children to recover the music publishing rights to about 60 of his classic songs, like “I Got a Woman,” “Hallelujah I Love Her So” and “Mary Ann.” The foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization founded by Charles in 1986, currently receives royalties on those songs."
  18. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/02/01/crap-of-the-week-gwen-stefani/ "In a commercial for the new HTC Windows phone, Gwen Stefani states that “the creative process never stops, and song writing is so hard.” Really, Gwen, is it? How many sleepless night did you spend creating such lyrical brilliance as, “this is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-N-A-S?” And, please, explain the grueling process that spawned the transcendent “Hey baby, hey baby, hey. Boys say, girls say. Hey baby, hey baby, hey.” You’re right. It’s difficult to generate nonsensical, meaningless drivel. If it were easy, toddlers would do it… Oh, wait. I’m confident that I speak for the rest of humanity when I say that I anxiously await the day you no longer “Holla Back Girl,” and who ya crappin?"

In a written statement to the Post, Marino admitted to his dalliance:'
  22. quoting the tribune article----------------- charlie can't eat solid food, has trouble swallowing and can barely talk. These symptoms, and others, have been caused by the onset of post-polio syndrome at the end of 2010, and they have dramatically altered Haden's life – and denied the rest of us the pleasure of basking in the warm glow of his music live.
