  1. wasn't this the case with "Search for the New Land" ?
  2. Is this the ancient one from way back when, the one with the "adjusted" cover art (first CD-style) or was there another release after that? Did that one with the "CD cover" use a digital master?
  3. Well my ears certainly perked up when I heard Ianci...and at 10:30 am precisely, I'll be passin' the love to someone else's ears. you're a kind soul and will be rewarded either in this life or in the hereafter. Maybe something to hunt down for you: Zoot Sims - In A Mellow Tone, pretty cool stuff from the tenor master with our main man Körössy at the ivories. I got it pretty cheap through some vendor that told me it was all directly imported from the US, so that should be easy for you (and don't put too much value on the negative slant of AMG on Rick Bell ).
  4. no problem here, but they do promise us "big changes" in four days in some big ass banner. I doubt that woud cause your problem though as usually cause comes before effect. :rsly:

    Jackie McLean

IMHO Jackie hit a downward curve while still with BN. Action promised more than Right Now delivered and there were a couple of albums that went unreleased recorded just after that. Consequence is a pretty nice album, but in no way does it compare to the fire on the edge of the earlier stuff. Then some time later there's New & Old Gospel and later on Demon's Dance, pretty erratic all that, I would say. And though Gospel reaches for the heights once promised by stuff like Freedom Ring or Action, it doesn't reach it quite (though it's a hell of a mofo of an album). And I have never understood all the critical acclaim for Demon's Dance. Of course it's a great album, but I would have expected something else, something with some more daring from McLean at that time. Never invested in all that came after, my bad for sure.
  8. I hope they stick to the facts and don't make stuff up. a silent movie then?

  12. stereo view you know, focus your eyes so that the two R's at the bottom are only one
  13. not entirely, but read the comments in the second half of this thread. Apparantly only newer CD writer models and burning programmes can handle the built-in errors. Of course you can still make an analog copy like you would do with an LP.
  14. we had the Escher from Japan some time ago already.
  15. AFAIK US military presence played an important role in getting american vinyl across the seas.
