sounds like you've got a leak couw... ← it was just one of those digital post modern guitaristic farts like Marc Ribot poots them forth ... and of course an expression of dismay at Allen's childish behaviour in welcoming a new board member

Welcome SeeWhy. I have recently been using this interesting method to speed up the process of getting rid of crackles. Thus far I have not encountered any detrimental effects like those you describe for trombone (or trumpet) parts. Maybe it's worthwhile to give it a try as well ?
  5. going with Claude this is likely a hardware problem then. Can't help much more, maybe check the CDex forum for some advice.

  7. Only after Caiman have listed the Euro-box ← Don't they have it yet? I picked it up in a (local) discounter three or four weeks ago, for around 65 eurozlotys. Haven't started listening, but I'm looking forward a lot! ← I'd say you got mighty lucky as there is no trace of this one otherwise going all budget on us
  8. oy, it seems you get all the fun here... try a search for wnaspi32.dll at the CDex board for some solutions (hopefully). this is a problem that might be related to XP Service Pack 2
  9. so, does it work in the other drive then?
  10. The CDex board discusses issues of this kind with copy protected disks. The advice is to NOT install anything the disks want to install. If you have already done so, you will need to find what it put where and uninstall it all. Opening the disk in your file manager will give you an uninstaller, I hope it delivers what it promises. Then there is some talk of selecting another Ripping Method: CDex > Settings > CD Drive > Ripping Method and set it to something else.
  11. Playing Rendell - Playtime now and it deserves more unequivocal praise heaped on it.
  12. It's from 1958 and it's in the British Cool vein. Maybe a bit pedestrian at times and without obvious risks in the arrangements. Quite enjoyable though and with some very nice solo spots. It is a solid date that certainly has more than a fair share of the good shtuffe.
  13. I believe there are USB cables that enable you to connect two machines that are not on a LAN. Simply plug in on either end and hope Microsoft holds what it promises and all goes without further ado. Probably costs 10$ or so.
  14. dunno, it was trashed two days ago, so it recently must have accumulated this dot.net from some other heap
  15. the organissimo.net hang-up seems to have been a cache issue (???)
  16. oh, and VERY fast
  17. works fine for me now too.
  18. slow loading, or non-resolved loading here when things apparantly get stuck on trying to contact www.organissimo.net for some site elements or what do I know.
  19. You could be right. I've never seen another copy on Amiga or FMP. ← AFAIK, there were a number of albums released as a co-production between VEB Deutsche Schallplatten DDR (Amiga) and Free Music Production Berlin (West). In case of Ulrich Gumpert Workshop Band (Amiga) / Echoes from Karolinenhof (FMP), I know this to be a fact as the liners on both LPs mention it.

  21. my BN conn CD says this was recorded on the 14th. Which is correct? Recorded on this day: 1961, Clifford Jordan - Starting Time (Milestone) 1968, Yusef Lateef - The Blue Yusef Lateef (Atlantic) 1973, Donald Byrd in the midst of a three day disco session for Blue Note (Street Lady)
  22. more downloads have been posted
  23. 1947, Don Byas records for Blue Star 1963, Paul Desmond records for RCA Victor (Take Ten) 1972, Guy Lafitte - Sugar and Spice (RCA Victor), ctd the next day
