  1. I might have one of these for sale within a week. I'm not quite sure yet, but I'm just wondering if anyone would be interested. Box would have to be sent from Germany at around 40 Euro or thereabouts. I haven't set a price ... I leave that to those who are interested. Cheers!
  2. Jewel cases. There's a topic in there somewhere ....
  3. Hi everyone, I've been doing quite a bit of looking around because years ago I heard that Brian May's Starfleet Project was released as a sereis of bonus tracks on some CD, but I don't seem to be able to find it. I'm especially looking for the last tune, a long blues session entitled "Blues Breaker", dedicated to Eric Clapton. Here the details for the session: Starfleet Project Recorded April 1983 at Record Plant LA Studios Released October 31, 1983 Brian May : Vocals and Guitar Edward Van Halen : Guitar Alan Gratzer : Drums Phil Chen : Bass Fred Mandel : Keyboards Roger Taylor : Backing Vocals on Starfleet Songs: Starfleet Let Me Out Blues Breaker "Blues Breaker": Brian May, Edward Van Halen, Alan Gratzer, Phil Chen and Fred Mandel (Dedicated To E.C.) Any help appreciated. Cheers!
  4. Good question. Let's see: 1) Tequila Sunrise(s) 2) Lucky Strike(s) 3) 2 drumming sessions per day, if time allows 4) lots of young blood around me Keeps everything well-insulated and oiled. Cheers!
  5. UP! About 14.000 to go. Come on guys. Let's have a thread about a nude something or rather, dirty jokes, beer test results, the worst recordings ever, Christmas songs that suck ... or let's just start some polls to have people evicted from the site. Degenerative diseases recognized in American Presidents, the "old" Europe striking back, White Punks on Dope, X-Mas mambo recordings, best Christmas recipes, everyone's fave New Year punch bowl, pictures of Organissimo board members in drag, etc. One of the above should send the post count skyrocketing. Cheers!
  6. A more recent, cropped image. Cheers!
  7. How about some more dynamic stuff?
  8. Or this one ...
  9. I have decided to be 99 every day from today onwards. Off to hoovering again (Miles Davis recorded some great hoovering music, btw). Cheers! hoovering....meaning you are using a vacuum, right? Yep.
  10. Just right-click and save. Cheers!
  11. Good idea. I'm game. Cheers!
  12. With a record 63 users online not so long ago we're going to reach 100,000 posts in no time. Any suggestions as to how we should celebrate this event? Suggestions welcome.
  13. Turd yourself.
  14. Huh? I thought he played (err, sang) for TOTO God, I hate hoovering. Cheers!
  15. Great attitude, Deus! Thanks! 1904 was a great year: Trombonist Glenn Miller born in Clarinda, Iowa. Miller was one of several star sideman in the 1920's trend-setting Ben Pollack Orchestra. He roomed with fellow band-mate Benny Goodman. Young trumpeter Harry James drove the bus. Stride piano player and composer Thomas "Fats" Waller is born on May 21 in Harlem as one of twelve children born to Edward Murtin Waller. Tenor saxophone giant Coleman Hawkins is born in St. Joseph, Missouri on November 21. Eddie Lang is born in Philadelphia, Pa. as Salvatore Massaro. Lang will become the first jazz guitarist and will thus influence all to come. Alto saxophone and clarinet player Henry "Buster" Smith is born on August 26 in Ellis County, Texas. Buster became a favorite of Charlie Parker and is credited with teaching Charlie quite a bit. Boogie Woogie piano pioneer Clarence "Pinetop" Smith is born. Boogie Woogie piano pioneer Pete Johnson is born in Kansas City, Mo. Bass saxophonist Adrian Rollini is born in New York City on June 28. Cheers!
  16. Tusind tak, Christiern. Cheers! (err, ... Skaal! ... where is that a with the circle above it ...?)

  18. Yep, find a place to check out the B&W ... no idea if there is one 'round your place. Believe me, you'll find them to be just what you want. They reproduce music the way it was recorded. None of that added bass/trebble etc. crap. Just the way it's supposed to sound (and the way your amp repoduces it ... NAD makes good amps, so you should be in the clear there). BTW: Consider a good connector between CD player/turntable and amp as well as decent speaker cables (if you don't have those already). It's no hifi gobbledegook ... those two elements can and probably will help the speakers to develop their true potential. Cheers! Now I'm off ...
  19. Deep, I gotta go and do some massive cleaning here - the place looks like shite. I'll be back later. re the B&W speakers: From the CDM 9T up, they have won just about every prize/test and whatnot across the globe. You can't go wrong with those. I have heard them all and they are simply brilliant. Probably the best around, although there are of course also other competitors (who usually don't have such a solid line of grade A speakers, but single equally good speakers). Cheers!
  20. Hm. I'm too lazy to read up on the Genesis speakers. I've just heard lots of good stuff about them. As far as I recall, a year or two ago a mail-order dealer was getting rid of Genesis sets at a ridiculously low price. Would have to check my old mags. Forget about Bose. That's like driving a Porsche and switching over to a Beetle. Try to describe what you like about your Genesis and I could maybe come up with some suggestions. It really depends on your personal listening habits. I have Dynaudio speakers (Denmark) but B&W speakers could be just the right thing for you. If you are in fact so rich, check out their "Nautilus" line. GREAT speakers! http://www.bwspeakers.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Submit=Continue 100% recommendation by me! Cheers!
