Brahms - String Quartets -Guarneri Quartet

Back while living in Rochester, NY I had a pair of large Magnapan speakers. Loved them, but they were the size of a door. When my wife and I retired and decided to move to Tucson, Arizona, the idea of moving those large and fragile speakers did not seem appropriate. So I found some wonderful Audio Physic speakers (made in Germany) at a local Audio Shop. Was able to make an arrangement with the owner. He would do a trade for my 10 year old Magnapans in exchange for the Audio Physic speakers along with some cash from me. However the terrific part of the arrangement was as follows. He would come to my house a few days before we moved and pick up the Magnapans in his truck. He arranged for the new Audio Physic speakers to be drop shipped to my new house in Tucson. So no moving the speakers and no shipping charge. I have been very pleased with the Audio Physic speakers though they do sound a bit different from the Magapans.

String Quartets in A minor & D minor

I am a huge fan of the Haydn String Quartets Op.20 through Op.77. I have heard numerous (mainly) recorded performances of all of them. Rarely a day goes by when I have not listened to at least one Haydn String Quartet. There are those who don't like LISTS. I am among those who do like lists. It gives me insight into the taste and opinions of others. Also as has has been stated, it may suggest some items that I have missed or overlooked. Hutch is a prime list maker as I have followed his previous lists of jazz favorites from specific decades. I very much enjoyed seeing his selections. It will take a bit of time to put it together, but I will post a list of some of my favorite piano trio recordings.
