  1. After looking over Ken's fine list of CDs by Zoot Sims, I compared it to what I have. There were a few I am missing. Also discovered that I have some not on Ken's list: Jazz Mission to Moscow - Colpix 50064 Zoot Sims - live in Louisville - Gambit 69335 Zoot Sims et Henri Renaud (many other musicians) - Gitanes 013 037-2 Zoot Sims in Paris 1956 (Quintet w. Jon Eardley) - Jazztime 22 Zoot Sims - In Paris (Quartet) - Liberty 6244 Zoot Sims - Passion flower - Pablo OJCCD 939-2 Sims - Brookmeyer / Eldridge-Kamuca - Pumpkin 107 & 108
  2. Spohr - Clarinet Concerto No.1, Op.26 and Eduard Franck - String Quintet Op.51
  3. With Carmen Leggio , John Bunch
  4. Brahms - Piano Trio Op.8, (Original Version, 1854)
  5. David - Piano Trio No.2 in D Minor and Martucci - Piano Quintet Op.45
  6. Noel Jewkes - A saxophone player who deserves greater recognition.
  7. You would not know it from looking at the cover, but Benny Goodman plays on many tracks.
  8. Mozart - Rondos for Piano & Orch. K382 & K.386 and Beethoven - String Quartet Op.59/1
  9. When I first began to listen to and enjoy jazz I had no understanding of any of the technical issues, but it was the feeling I got from the music that grabbed me. Over many years of listening I gradually gained knowledge of harmony, rhythm, tone, phrasing, chord changes, choruses, etc. I also learned to understand how to identify the underlying tunes when jazz musicians played originals based on those changes. So it all comes down to countless hours of listening experience that has enhanced my appreciation of jazz.
  10. Vol.6 - Includes 1949 session in Sweden by James Moody, Zoot Sims and Stan Getz
