  1. Larry, I have your book. So I will read your liner notes there. What Jim just posted is unreadable for my old eyes.
  2. My copy of Worktime is the 20bit K2 Prestige CD. The liner notes on this have both the original by Ira Gitler, and the notes for the reissue by Joe Goldberg. Larry, yours are not here?
  3. Toots swings as Hard as possible on the Jimmy Heath tune - For Minors Only! Swedish pianist Are Johansson is world class. Simply a great album. Recorded in Stockholm in 1985.
  4. String Quartet Op.59/2 "Rasumovsky"
  5. For my ears, the best decade of Sonny Rollins recordings is definitely the 50's. Two I like a great deal were only mentioned once or twice or not at all. Sonny Rollins Vol.2 - Blue Note Worktime - Prestige Though my list of outstanding recordings by Sonny Rollins in the 50's would be very very lengthy.
  6. Juilliard String Quartet - Brahms - String Quartet No.3, Op.67 - Clara Schumann - Piano Trio Op.17
  7. Frank Strazzeri has been one of my very favorite jazz pianists for a long time.
  8. Just watched a live streaming session fro Smoke in NYC. George Coleman, Emmett Cohen, Peter Washington and Joe Farnsworth. The 86 year old George Colman played well and the rhythm section was outstanding. A terrific hour and a half of jazz.
  9. Haydn - Piano Sonatas No.38 & No.60 and Dvorak - Symphony No.6, Op.60
  10. Haydn - Op.20/1 &. Op.20/2. Schubert - Piano Sonata D.840 "Reliquie"
  11. Just pulled this CD off the shelf. Haven't heard it in quite some time. Will play it soon.
