  3. Peter King was a fine British jazz musician . Just pulled off the shelf the CD titled" Tippin' The Scales" by a group called Perfect Pitch. The front line has Dick Morrissey on tenor, and Peter King on alto. Will play it later today.
  4. According to LORD, Persip was on 240 recording sessions. He played with a very wide range of musicians. I was going to try to select 2 or 3 favorites, but there were so many wonderful sessions that I gave up trying to narrow it down to just a few.
  5. A beautiful recording of 12 Ellington tunes recorded in 1979 & 1981.

  7. The Tommy Flanagan Trio session is one of his best. The Basie / Gillespie is also a terrific recording. Over the years my appreciation for Art Hodes grown larger, and this is a good one.
  8. Sorry to hear this bad news. I always liked his playing. I recall that quite a few years ago he became Charli instead of Charlie.
