As often is the case, reading positive things about a CD has motivated me to pull my copy off the shelf. I intend to listen to this Red Rodney session today or tomorrow.

I knew Yvonne Erving. She was a key person in the Tucson Jazz Scene for many years. The last time I saw her was at a concert she co-produced back this past September. It featured the Cory Weeds Quartet with pianist David Hazeltine.. It was held in a small intimate venue. The music was very very good that evening. I spoke with Yvonne at the concert, There was no evidence that she was ill. She will be greatly missed.
