Gene Krupa in Disco Order Vol. 17. I would like to locate Woody Herman in Disco Order (all of them).

This is too sexy for this board. Where does the white plug go. Up your Ass. ←

There are 18 tracks on the CD, but only track 13 -18 with Lockjaw Davis. He does a wonderful ballad on the ballad medley. This is typical JATP music of the time 1953-54 with Charlie Shavers and Bill Harris dominating. I like the Teddy Wilson playing, really nice. The CD contain 3 recording sessions, so the recording is spotty in places, but good. It was originally on Clef's, does that tell you something. Recording time is 74 min. (Be careful. You are talking about a Spanish CD. It won't be long now before members of this board start attacking. Just tell them to eat Spanish Fly)

Just spinning this newly acquired rarety: Nat Pierce Orchestra 1948-1950 on ZIm Records. Here's an Al Cohn quote from the back of the LP: "We must all pitch in and do our part, otherwise we may not have a part to pitch in." Here's what I say: "We must all piss in a pot, otherwise we won't have a pot to piss in".

Try this one: http://music.channel.aol.com/artist/main.a...000000007&sem=1 It's the Mosaic Complete Art Hodes from AOL available for download $$$$ I don't know the cost, but certainly not $130-- or more. By the way, why are the Mosaics available like that?
-
From a seller on eBay: ART HODES-MOSAIC COMPLETE BLUE NOTE SESSIONS NM LPs!! OUT OF PRINT MOSAIC LPs-COMPLETE BLUE NOTE STILL SEALED. Further in his selling point he lists: LP'S ARE NM! Now, doesn't he know that "Complete sealed" means MINT and not NM. Especially since he has "sight graded(LP's & 45's) under a type T-4 halogen lamp with a type 001 uv filter". What a bunch of HORSE......

Is rap tomorrow's jazz?
StormP replied to BeBop's topic in Jazz In Print - Periodicals, Books, Newspapers, etc...

Your quote: "The Three Blind Mice date is excellent". The best rendition of "Three Blind Mice" is by NAT KING COLE, periods.......... Now for something different and much more serious: TO CANADA: HANDS OFF HANS ISLAND!

Complete Clef/Verve Count Basie Fifties Studio Recordings Mosaic; ASIN: B0009A6C3A I have been waiting 2 month for this Mosaic set. Does anybody not think I'm not pis**d off. The numbering system is a bunch of crap. Strictly mechandising. Unfortunately I ordered from Amazon. They sucked me in! I still don't have the set!!!! But hey, MOSAIC, don't you have an image to protect? Faithfully yours, -
Tell me why I should get the Buddy Rich set?
StormP replied to tranemonk's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
I didn't know Rich ate pork chops! -
I recognize the Dynaco stuff. You had to build that yourself. Does anybody in their right mind want to pay money for that? My antique JVC speakers pictured here are available to highest bidder. They are currently hanging from the ceiling.

Sorry can't help you with the cassette, but Do you have the Earl Hines 5 LP box "Father of modern Jazz Piano". 3 solo lps and two quartet lps with Budd Johnson. Did they ever come out on CD. If you have them, what's your opinion?
-
I loved to listen to Red Norvo, (live of course). He would play ballads with those humongous large mallets. He really got a kick out of using them. Is there anybody who knows the make of those? Were they custom made? I have not seen anybody else using them.

Thanks for your clarification Swinging Swede. It's much appreciated. As for getting older, I don't buy green bananas anymore. Here's one of my favorite Swedish albums: Evergreens with Ove Lind, Bengt Hallberg and Staffan Broms. -
Peter Applebaum from Canada is the best. None of that far out stuff. Just plain swing and lots of fun. Just ask Terry Gibbs.

Are these Verve Vault downloads wav or mp3 files. If they are mp3's I don't think $10.00 is a good deal! StormP says: Hands of Hans Island!
