I think that these Olympics have been the most enjoyable to watch in some time. There are far fewer nauseating human interest segments about the athletes than usual. There have been some genuinely exciting swimming and gymnastics events. It's been fun. Regarding all the reasons expressed here for not liking the Olympics, I am with JSngry--everything is commercialized and tainted and impure these days. If you don't like something for that reason, there is virtually nothing left in the world to like. I enjoy seeing the athletes cut through all of that and still deliver inspiring performances.

This album has lyrical content which makes my maiden aunt blush.

That is an album which deserves greater recognition. It is one of my favorite McShann albums.

Chuck, I listened to "A1 Tal 2La" several times in the past few days, based on your post. I like "A1 Tal 2La", and find it very interesting and a fine piece of music. However, if this is what brings tears to your eyes, it is an example of the diversity of the human species--which I am all in favor of celebrating.
