  1. This is John E. Hasse’s take. Published in the Wall Street Journal. https://www.wsj.com/articles/crazy-blues-transformed-american-music-11597174053?st=ijcs0l1aj9ow6s0 EDIT: sorry, mjzee, I missed your post.
  2. Thanks, Brad. Hadju’s article is a good read. However, he does not touch upon the topic of who is the pianist on that session (whether Bradford or Willie the Lion Smith). After 100 years, it is still uncertain.
  3. Kudos to that! 👌
  4. Watching Peaky Blinders first season with my youngest son. Yes, I am very late... so what?
  5. Jokes aside, it is not highly regarded by Ben’s biographer, Frank Büchman-Møller. Neither is Tete Montoliu’s comping. However (being a Tete Montoliu nut, a Ben Webster nut and a Don Byas nut), it is highly enjoyable for me! 😇
  6. It's Paco! His fifth album (1974) as a leader soloist, and it's a milestone in his career and in the history of flamenco guitar. Issued by Island in the UK and USA the following year, as simple as "Paco". The technical skills shown in this album had not been achieved by any flamenco guitarist before and, honestly, I think it is still unsurpassed. Moreover, it includes "Entre Dos Aguas", a semi-improvised rumba which is one of my favourite guitar pieces. Period.
