  3. Oh hell yeah. Covered in baked beans, she was! I think I'd prefer licking that off - I don't like custard. MG

  5. MG, If you prize chocolate, you might enjoy this rather long and detailed investigative blog report on NoKA chocolate. I just finished reading it. Hey, they're in Plano, Texas. Perhaps Jim could get some free samples... MG
  6. I don't think so. I offered to look for them next time I have a VO gig in Miami, and asked Clem to drop the "no stock" claim if I could show that they have a big ass warehouse. Sorry, misread you. Thanks Dan. MG
  7. No - not terrible, just not as good. And "A new perspective" is actually a hard one to beat. MG
  8. Tesco's Finest tea (blended, but not bad, I guess) with Asda Extra Special Belgian Dark Chocolate - it's actually cooking chocolate, but I LURVE it. When I've got a bit of this after lunch, I don't CARE what tea I'm drinking! MG
  9. No, Dan's said that everything's shipped from there. Caiman themself refer to their "suppliers", which could mean anything, including a big distributor in Miami who services many clients, not just Caiman. Agree that there's nothing inherently "sinister" about them, but I'm pretty close-to-the-vest when it comes to online transactions, and a company as "controversial" as Caiman is not one which engenders my confidence. Can't be asked to look back, but Dan said he could show you an effin' big warehouse. MG
  10. I've never HEARD of Jervaulx and I used to live in Yorkshire. It sounds like it's somewhere in the Redcar area. MG
  11. I've got it. To me, it's not nearly as good as "A new perspective", despite Grant Green, Freddie Roach and Stanley Turrentine. I feel that the instrumental arrangements are too heavily brass-loaded and the vocal arrangements could have been done much more like a proper Gospel choir (they could have used a proper Gospel choir) to much more soulful effect. As it is, the vocals sound too classically oriented for my taste. MG
  12. I'm not saying that Caiman aren't up to something. Anyone operating off-shore is diddling someone; that's what off-shore is FOR. But it's a legal diddle. MG
  13. There's no evidence that Caiman are anywhere other than Miami - Dan's seen them there. They're registered in VI but that doesn't imply a physical presence. It's just some kind of tax, regulation or reporting haven. MG
  14. That assumes that your credit card company gives them the $$$ straightaway. No credit card company does that; they're trying to reduce the time they (actually) loan you money compared to the time in which they charge you interest. (If, that is, you pay interest and don't pay your CC debits as soon as asked. My CC company doesn't make any money off me except foreign exchange rip-offs.) So the real way to deal with this is to cancel and get a refund as soon as Caiman say they've got a problem, which is likely to be before they get the money. No second chances. If you fuck around trying to get a sensible answer out of them, they've got your $$$ and you're paying interest on it. MG
  15. King Muhammad Ali I (of Egypt) Aida (commissioned by above) The girls who were covered in custard (and carried into the after premiere do on silver platters)
  16. Yes - they're supposed to be ideal for a hundred thousand amateurs to sing. MG

  18. I don't remember Sindonda. I googled him a bit. Dodgy financier. Nowt new. Googled Cayman and Sindonda - got nowt. So...? MG
  19. You're right, there. I'm told you can get it elsewhere for about $10-$12. But I like your title better than mine. I'm not sure how much I'm laughing at you, Clem, or that Caiman price ("list price $37 - our price $43) but thanks for the chuckle. Me too. Is that just an individual cock-up or is that their system for making money? Since there are, after all, several hundred thousand born every minute. MG
  20. Oh yes it is! Is that one of Couw's? MG
  21. You just don't have a clue, do you? Since we both love those Ace folks so much ... I've been grabbing various Ace compilation/reissues through Caiman - about $12 plus shipping vs Amazon @$18.99. Or speaking of the other Ace folks, Mr. Vincent down in Ole Miss., I've grabbed most of the Ace label reissue comps from Caiman - $8, $10, maybe $12 - some of them Amazon doesn't even list as available, or if they are, they give a 3 to 6 week time frame - and Caiman came through in a week or less, at a better price. Keep "schoolin" me, son. I'll keep enjoying the price, service and selection of Caiman. And I'll tell you what, the next time I have a VO gig in Miami, I'll try to swing by their warehouse. If I tell you it covers about a city block, will you get off the "don't stock anything" BS? Dan - talk to me about Mr Vincent's reissues please. MG

  23. See - it ain't a Tyrone Washington album after all! MG
