  1. "Today's Man" (IMO) the strongest effort by Charles McPherson on Mainstream for sure ....
  2. Superb Rhythm Section here and (IMO) worth the ticket of entry alone for the two versions of "Soul Eyes" with a gorgeous Russ Freeman performance on the first take and a magical two-part Art Pepper solo with the 2nd faded out far too early ....
  3. Sublime and very good ....
  4. Quality Boulez/Mahler here ....
  5. Another thumbs up reg Galper's 70's recordings with the Breckers .... and speaking of "bad taste", a major impetus for these session' s success are - the Brecker Bros ....
  6. Hi Paul, this is a quite revered LP in some soul cycles (an original gatefold sleeve copy in decent condition fetches EURO 250 +) - (IMO) very good vocals, but the backing is definitely "up-townish" .... I`m positive that Alice Clark would have sounded superbly with a southern soul tinged backing, but would argue similarly with a number of (soul) singers ....
  7. Played this one just recently, (IMO) very good ....
  8. Outstanding interpretation ....
  9. Feat. some excellent Hampton Hawes performances ....
  10. Oh No Ono "Internet Warrior" (The Leaf Label) 2010
