  1. It was either this or Lee Morgan The Sidewinder, I can't remember.
  2. Fatty Arbuckle The Grease Band Brylcreem Man
  3. Me too, like the hosts, it's very well put together. Have you seen The Young Pope yet? I think you'd find it very interesting.
  4. Bump Of Chicken.............................I'm not making that up. Typical Japanese pop group, dress like Keith Richards, sound like Val Doonican. Colonel Sanders 'Colonel' Tom Parker
  5. I doubt you missed very much, it was a pretty dreadful film but alright for a laugh. I watched it because of the names, Oliver Stone & Michael Caine. I haven't seen the film you mention but it would appear the only thing they have in common is AWOL hands causing havoc. Re the 1960 remake, have a look at this. https://surrealmoviez.info/readarticle.php?article_id=56362
  6. The Hand by Oliver Stone has a similar plot. Michael Caine plays the lead.
  7. Frank Capra double bill. Mr Smith Goes To Washington (1939) It's A Wonderful Life (1946)
  8. Jason Bourne Josia Bounderby Cadillac Baby
  9. Bird Man Of Alcatraz The Leopard Man The Wolf Of Wall Street
  10. Right. I'm near the end of my first season of double bills. Season 2 will start soon.
  11. Sofia Coppola double bill. The Virgin Suicides (1999) Lost In Translation (2003)
  12. Willie Dixon Dixon Of Dock Green Reginald Dixon
  13. Joseph Plunkett Michael Collins Liam Neeson
  14. Hypernormalisation - Adam Curtis BBC (2016) An extension and further extrapolation on his previous documentaries. Off the wall in part but engrossing . His recap of the Colonel Gaddafi story is especially interesting. I had to break it into two days viewing
  15. Jolly Roger Pinky & Perky Robin Hood & His Merry Men
  16. El Clan - Pablo Trapero (2015) Disturbing true story of an outwardly respectable Argentinian family party to a series of truly heinous crimes. Worth a look.
  17. Free State Of Jones - Gary Ross (2016) Well intentioned with some excellent battle scenes but quite boring. I lapsed into clock watching. The flash forward scenes to a modern court case were bizarre and incongruous. Imperium - Daniel Ragussis (2016) Toni Collette was good. The rest of the film was a low powered mess. Daniel ' Harry Potter ' Radcliffe was fine in his nerdy FBI persona but laughable as an undercover skin head Nazi. I don't fault the lad, he did his best, but the casting decision sank the film. Perhaps a bigger fault was the lack of menace and fear that one would normally associate with a group of nihilist neo nazis. They were just too civil. Love Predestination.
  18. Soul Sister, Brown Sugar Alfie Bass Vincent Herring
  19. Sly Stone Oliver Stone Rocky Marciano
  20. Blancmange Suzy Creamcheese Apple Scruffs
  21. Anthropoid - Sean Ellis (2016) Brutal, powerful, edge of the seat remake of Operation Daybreak surpasses the already excellent original. Shot where it really happened, it's elegantly directed with first rate cinematography, cast and soundtrack. One of the year's best films imo. Thanks Bill. Will approach with caution.
  22. The Infiltrator - Brad Furman (2016) Solid, entertaining look at an undercover agent working inside the Medellin cartel. Good but not great. Cranston is the main reason to watch.
  23. James Watt The Steampacket Steamboat Bill
  24. Stuart Sutcliffe Jack The Ripper HH Holmes
  25. David Fincher double bill. Seven (1995) The Social Network (2010)
