  1. It's a common typical lazy let other people do the work for you internet attitude, Steve. It annoys me. No need to act the condescending wiener.
  2. Appeal to authority! LOL! What makes the Monk K2 interesting is the (superior) mono recording. The mastering on these K2s is actually not good at all, and the bass on the Monk is completely pumped up compared to the (only ?) other CD edition of the mono mix.
  3. Finding out for yourself would have taken up as much of your time as typing a response in this thread.
  4. This again. Very good album of spontaneous, diverse aural sculptures. Sound quality is great and the CD came in a very high quality gatefold mini-lp. Very thick Japanese style cardboard. Highly recommended.
  5. The session that started this thread certainly does not seem historically important to me.
  6. Anthony Braxton Sextet (Istanbul) 1996 (Braxton House) Glad to own this on CD (instead of digital files through Bandcamp). A sealed mint copy bought from the label's co-founder (Hardedge) on Discogs.
  7. Mode for Joe alternate take first released in Japan for Blue Note's 75th anniversary on UCCQ-5120 is one that has been mentioned before. Incidentally, it was recorded after the master take. (PS I'm not saying it's my opinion that it's better.)
  8. Hardedge / Graham Haynes Burned to the Water's Edge (Hardedge, link)
  9. Ah! The lady from 2001: A Space Odyssey together with Sonny.
  10. New arrival: DarkMatterHalo Discernible Grid (Hardedge, link) A group consisting of sound designer Hardedge and guitarists Brandon Ross and Doug Wieselman.
  11. Currently the only Greg Osby as leader I own. The two albums from Andrew Hill's second stint with Blue Note I play regularly.
  12. I love this album, though the remaster is a step down from the original Philips CD IMO. Do you have any early Paco on vinyl? I am curious how the original Philips CD compares to the 70s vinyl.
  13. Greg Osby Banned in New York
  14. One of the best albums of the previous decade.
  15. My favourite My Favorite Things.

I'm not practised at writing reviews, but CDs 1 & 4 are available for streaming from bandcamp on the link above. I listened to disc 1 and am happy with both performance and sound quality. Couldn't say if this is absolute top tier in this sort of thing. You're probably a better judge.
  17.
